Internship
- Worked closely with a field supervisor on an installation crew grading, planting, and coordinating subs.
- Operated various types of equipment, skid steer, roller packer, backhoe, and trencher.
- Completed Ruppert’s field supervisor training.
- Worked with their maintenance division doing basic maintenance work.
- Assisted completion of construction final punch list for the New World of Coca-cola, & LeJardin (the largest job on the books for Ruppert at that time.)
- Led a crew start to finish on two small installations in Columbus GA.

Internship - Performed and/or supervised landscape services including many types of hardscape installation: flagstone patios, stone borders, pergolas, design/build custom arbors, outdoor lighting repair, irrigation system design and installation, troubleshooting and repair, as well as planting, laying sod, pest management, and other maintenance operations.
- Supervised a crew of four (two Hispanic workers) assigning work, gathering supplies, performing pre-job surveys and reviewing work to be done with the crew as well as generally performing the lead job.
- I built custom arbors, lattice, stone walkways, and a flagstone patios.
2002-2008 Nantahala Outdoor Center Mtn. Rest, SC
Lead Raft Guide - As trip leader I was responsible for groups of up to forty guests, leading them on a day of rafting down the wild and scenic class IV-V Chattooga River, along the border of South Carolina and Georgia.
- My duties included arranging transportation to and from the river, and establishing the overall safety “culture” for each trip on and off the water, and give my guest the experience they will never forget.
